LWML is an official auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Since 1942, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.

 As Lutheran Women in Mission, we joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions, and equip women to honor God by serving others. Hence Tabitha’s goals are to serve as a mission group under the LWML banner, encouraging each other in Christ, while also encouraging fellowship and fun among the women in our congregation. 

 To achieve these goals Tabitha engages in various fund raising, social, and outreach activities throughout the year. Fundraising has included hosting bake sales, luncheons and auctions. We have an annual Christmas party where we have fun and we raise money for third world countries. 

We have supported local women’s shelters, ministries in other countries, and World Vision to name a few.

We have also enjoyed guest lectures and fun nights with flower arranging or art. Making cards or seasonal items for nursing home residents is another activity we enjoy which combines fellowship with outreach. At the end of each year we gather for a luncheon at a local restaurant to enjoy good food and fellowship with each other.

 All women of Messiah are welcome at our Tabitha meetings which take place after church on the 4th Sunday of the month.
